Deep Blue & Gold Crystalline Vase

Deep Blue & Gold Crystalline Vase

Sorry, this item has sold.

Production Notes - In a remarkable weekend workshop attended by potters from England, Canada and across the USA, I was introduced to some incredible new glazes, techniques and firing schedules for my latest vases and bowls seen here for the first time.

I must give credit to two of my mentors and unselfish teachers who shared their knowledge and glazes with me. Thank you to Glenn Woods form Florida and Holly McKeen from Canada for helping me produce these exceptional pieces.

Deep blue body that is full of crystals is set off with a very golden neck - remarkable, bold and one of a kind!

About Our Process:

Items I create are hand-thrown pottery from clay on a wheel in my studio or occasionally hand-formed flat pieces. All are original and one-of-a-kind as there are no production runs of this work. Nor are the pieces dipped in glaze - they are all hand painted with multiple coats to achieve a rich dimensional glaze look. All items are fired in our own kilns twice - a bisque and the final glaze high temperature 2,200 degree firing.

The process is highly laborious, but I love the simple, whimsical and unique look of every piece. I am constantly experimenting with color combinations, design concepts and ultimately the actual use of these pieces for my friends and customers. I hope you enjoy the pieces for many years to come and I look forward to your feedback on my work.
