White Turbo Seashell On a Colbalt Blue Crystalline Urn or Lidded Vase

White Turbo Seashell On a Colbalt Blue Crystalline Urn or Lidded Vase

This vase is really a deep blue colbalt with just a little lip at the top. Very nice and fun. It is adorned with a white turbo seashell. Perfect for this color combination of glazes.

This vase itself has a volume of 4 cups or 58 cubic inches. The lid and shell adds another 1.25" for a total of 7.5" when closed and 5 inches wide. If used for ashes, the formula is one cubic inch for one pound of individual weight, perfect for a pet. This is a beautiful and elegant lidded vase with a lip - love the look on this piece.

Production Notes - Elegant, precious and one of a kind, the crystal process is difficult, with a high failure rate but the vases are so incredible and beautiful. Each crystal is similar to ice crystals that form on a winter window - you cannot predict or control them. If you are looking for something special - You found it with this line of soft colors and beautiful crystals.

About Our Process:

Items I create are hand-thrown pottery from clay on a wheel in my studio or occasionally hand-formed flat pieces. All are original and one-of-a-kind as there are no production runs of this work. Nor are the pieces dipped in glaze - they are all hand painted with multiple coats to achieve a rich dimensional glaze look. All items are fired in our own kilns twice - a bisque and the final glaze high temperature 2,300 degree firing.

The process is highly laborious, but I love the simple, whimsical and unique look of every piece. I am constantly experimenting with color combinations, design concepts and ultimately the actual use of these pieces for my friends and customers. I hope you enjoy the pieces for many years to come and I look forward to your feedback on my work.
